Hi, I'm Oksana! I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I live on Treaty 6 land in Edmonton and work online with anyone in Alberta. New findings can emerge from a guided understanding of the self. Perhaps you are finding that some of your thought patterns, behaviours, and ways of relating that at once were adaptive, no longer serve you. My hope is to facilitate and hold a safe, open, and encouraging space entirely for you in an effort to explore these further. Let’s work together to address your specific needs.
In order for therapy to be effective, your personal style needs to be considered. Your way of communicating and relating to the world and to those around you, and the manner in which you construct meaning through life experiences will be important to our work together. We will begin with the strengths and resources that you already have and figure out our next steps together.
The focus of my clinical work is with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety and depression, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, and struggling with challenges related to mood, identity work, stress, burnout, grief, life transitions, performance, and personality. I also have experience navigating the areas of perfectionism, impulse-control, difficulties with attention and concentration, learning challenges, phobias, panic attacks, self-harm, and attachment. I respect and acknowledge cultural differences while working with clients of diverse backgrounds and orientations.
As your therapist, I aim to foster insight and develop personal growth through self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-assertion. Drawing from evidence-based approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and dialectical-behavioral (DBT) therapies, I employ an integrative approach in tailoring the therapeutic process to meet your interests and your needs. I would like to welcome you and the potential that can emerge when we are willing to take a deeper look - let's be curious together.
